EmailOctopus Reports and Analytics: What You Can Track
Contents
EmailOctopus reports cover the core metrics most newsletter and small-business senders actually use: opens, clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, link activity, and campaign/automation performance. You can search and sort reports, inspect who clicked a specific link, export activity, and add UTM parameters for Google Analytics.
The reporting is useful for campaign decisions, but it is not a full revenue analytics or multi-touch attribution suite.

How the Reports area is organized
EmailOctopus lets you search and sort campaign and automation reports by name, creation date, and open/click rates. Campaign reports can also be filtered by send date.
How to see who clicked a specific link
Inside a campaign report, the “Top links clicked” area shows unique and total clicks for individual URLs. You can open the contact list behind a link and export that activity.
That is useful for follow-up segments such as “clicked the pricing page,” “clicked the webinar link,” or “clicked the product announcement.”
Connect EmailOctopus to Google Analytics
EmailOctopus can automatically append UTM parameters when Google Analytics tracking is enabled:
utm_source=emailoctopusutm_medium=emailutm_campaign=campaign name
If you already added your own UTM values to a link, your custom parameters take precedence.
Metrics worth watching
Clicks
Clicks are often more useful than opens for judging whether the content moved someone toward an action.
Unsubscribes and complaints
Use these as quality and expectation signals rather than treating every unsubscribe as failure.
Bounces
Bounces can indicate data quality or deliverability problems and should not be ignored.
Segment performance
Compare audiences rather than only comparing entire campaigns. A smaller, well-targeted segment can outperform a broad send even when the overall campaign looks average.
Where EmailOctopus reporting is limited
If you need sophisticated revenue attribution, advanced ecommerce reports, multi-channel funnels, or large executive dashboards, you will likely combine EmailOctopus with Google Analytics, your ecommerce platform, BI tooling, or another system of record.
